Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced the end of military operations against Israel. The headquarters also warned that if new attacks occur, especially in southern Lebanon, a harsher response will be given.
The announcement came as U.S. President Donald Trump called for an immediate halt to strikes by both Iran and Israel. This development marked a new phase in the mutual military escalation between the two sides, under the shadow of diplomatic appeals.
Statement Amid Ongoing Mutual Attacks
The military activity between the parties has been marked by airstrikes and explosions. New missile salvoes from Iran targeting Israel were detected, prompting sirens to sound in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas.
The Israeli military activated warning systems including in central regions. Air raid sirens were also reported active in central parts of Israel, including Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, Israeli Army Radio reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted two waves of attacks inside Iran. These strikes targeted air defense systems in Tehran and several locations in Iran’s central and western regions.
The same broadcast stated that Israeli aircraft also hit a petrochemical facility in Ahvaz, located in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province.
Tensions Reach a New Threshold
Iran’s conditional announcement to end operations does not mean the cycle of attacks and retaliation has completely ended. The statement also conveyed that any new attacks will be met with a stronger response.
Thus, tensions between Iran and Israel have entered a period marked by increased military activity on the ground alongside heightened verbal warnings. Recent messages from both sides indicate ongoing uncertainty about the conflict’s trajectory.
