Iran's Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei announced that despite the agreement with the US, which foresees an end to attacks, Tehran maintains a cautious stance. Ejei stated that if the enemy fails to keep its promises, Iran is ready to return to conflict.
Addressing Supreme Court judges and staff in the capital Tehran on Tuesday, Ejei emphasized the need to closely monitor the parties despite the agreement coming into effect. According to him, the "enemy" is not trustworthy, and Iran is prepared to respond to any potential violations.
Ejei explained that following the memorandum of understanding to be signed with the US on Friday, a 60-day negotiation period will begin. During this time, Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions imposed on the country will be discussed.
The senior Iranian judicial official also stated that Iranian representatives will not compromise on the country's rights during the talks. Ejei stressed that protecting national interests will be the fundamental principle at the negotiation table.
In his speech, Ejei also addressed US-Israeli aggression, affirming that Iran will not back down in the face of pressure and threats. His message highlighted calm if the agreement holds, and readiness to respond again if it breaks down.
