Iranian media reported that ships wishing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz still have to coordinate with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
In a live broadcast from the Strait of Hormuz by Iran's official television, it was stated that the coordination requirement with the Revolutionary Guards Navy remains. Accordingly, ships wanting to use the strait need to contact the Iranian side regarding security and passage arrangements.
The report also conveyed that the agreement said to have been reached between Iran and the US envisages reopening the strait to maritime traffic and the lifting of the US naval blockade. Within this framework, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz was expected as the first step once the agreement came into effect.
Meanwhile, the Tasnim news agency claimed that Israel's attacks on Lebanon constitute a violation of the agreement. The report argued that the Strait of Hormuz should remain closed until these attacks cease.
It was noted that a Pakistani mediator announced on Wednesday that the US and Iran signed the "Islamabad Agreement" online. The agreement aims to end the war between Washington and Tehran and was said to have come into immediate effect.
According to the announcement made by Iran, the US, and Pakistan on Sunday, the agreement aimed to end the war initiated by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran on February 28. The arrangement also included stopping Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
The report included information that hours after the announcement of the agreement, two Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon resulted in three deaths and three injuries.
