Israel's Channel 13 reported that a closed-door meeting of the U.S.-led Board of Peace for Gaza in New York about a week ago descended into a heated exchange between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Israeli representative Michael Eisenberg.

According to Channel 13 correspondent Suleiman Maswadeh, Fidan sharply criticised Israel's actions in Gaza, described them as genocide and accused Israel of leaving Palestinians in the enclave facing hunger.
When Eisenberg responded, Fidan reportedly tried to interrupt, prompting the Israeli envoy to ask to be allowed to finish. As the argument escalated, Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law and envoy, intervened to calm the situation and refocus the discussion. U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff also attended the meeting.

The report could not be independently verified, and there was no comment from the Turkish side. The Board of Peace received a UN Security Council mandate last November to deploy an international stabilisation force in Gaza.
