Days of heavy rain in Istanbul have rapidly raised water levels in the dams that supply the city. According to İSKİ data, average occupancy rose 9.96 points in two days, from 38.06% on Oct. 14 to 48.02% as of today.
The biggest increase was at Alibeyköy Dam, where occupancy jumped from 34.44% two days ago to 73.47% within 48 hours, its highest level in a year. Elmalı Dam was measured at 92.12%.

Some dams still low
Occupancy remained at 29.85% at Büyükçekmece Dam and 8.18% at Kazandere Dam. On the same date last year, average occupancy in Istanbul’s dams stood at 24.75%. The recent rains have brought the low levels closer to the 10-year average.
