Kilis Mayor Hakan Bilecen announced yesterday that he resigned from the Republican People's Party (CHP). Journalist Sinan Burhan shared striking backstage information during a program he attended. Burhan revealed the new political affiliation of Kilis Mayor Hakan Bilecen, who announced his resignation from CHP.
IT IS CONFIRMED THAT HE WILL JOIN THE AK PARTY
Speaking on tv100, journalist Sinan Burhan said, "Let me share a breaking news. Hakan Bilecen, the Kilis Mayor who resigned from CHP today, will join the AK Party. This topic had been circulating in political circles for some time, but now I can confirm it has been finalized."
HARSH WORDS FROM BILECEN Meanwhile, Hakan Bilecen explained the reasons for his resignation from CHP with strong words in a video message shared on his social media account yesterday. Emphasizing that promises made to him within the party were not kept, Bilecen said, "Except for Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, I received no support from any municipality. Since I took office, I have gone door to door but achieved no results.
There were always excuses and reasons for this," he stated.
TIRED OF THE OFFICIAL AND UNOFFICIAL PARTY LEADERSHIP
Drawing attention to the management chaos at CHP headquarters, Bilecen also commented on the internal unrest within the party: Quoting, "The absolute invalidity case, then the change of CHP chairman, official chairman, unofficial chairman... We are tired of this situation. We want to separate Kilis Municipality from the political turmoil within the Republican People's Party and the country and set it aside."
I WILL CONTINUE AS AN INDEPENDENT
Stating that he made this decision to better serve Kilis, Hakan Bilecen said he will initially continue his duty as an independent. Bilecen concluded, "After long consultations to protect my city and municipality from political conflicts, I made this decision. I believe this is the right choice for now. I will continue my path as an independent mayor.
I thank every individual in the Republican People's Party."
