Speaking at the “Assessment Meeting on the 28th Parliamentary Term’s Fourth Legislative Year” in Ankara, Kurtulmuş drew attention to Netanyahu’s engagements in New York and the protest he faced at the UN General Assembly.

Kurtulmuş said, “He arrived in New York in a rush and left New York as if fleeing. Wherever they flee, they will most certainly answer for the crimes they have committed against humanity.”
The Turkish Parliament speaker also recalled saying in a speech approximately two years ago that the number of people unwilling to be in the same setting as Netanyahu and the Israeli administration would continue to rise.
Representatives of numerous countries left the chamber during Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly to join the protest. According to information compiled by Anadolu Agency from footage of the UN General Assembly, representatives of approximately 70 countries either left the chamber during the speech or did not attend.

Türkiye was among the countries that protested Netanyahu. Demonstrations were also held around the UN headquarters in New York against Netanyahu and Israel’s policies in Gaza.
Kurtulmuş said the scenes in the General Assembly chamber demonstrated the extent of international opposition to Netanyahu and argued that the Israeli administration would be held accountable for its actions in Gaza.
