Kuwait has temporarily closed its airspace and redirected flights to alternative airports. The Civil Aviation Authority announced that the decision was taken to protect passenger safety and ensure air navigation security.
According to the authority, this measure was implemented following Iranian attacks in the country. It was emphasized that the decision is a precaution to reduce potential risks in civil aviation traffic.
Officials stated that the airspace will reopen and flights will return to normal once the danger has passed and the relevant authorities have completed their assessments.
The authority also announced that developments are being closely monitored throughout the day and coordination with relevant units continues.
Passengers and airlines were urged to follow official announcements and comply with the given instructions.
This development came after a previous statement from the Kuwait Land Forces General Command on social media, which announced that air defense systems responded to hostile air targets violating the country’s airspace.
