Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that his country is facing the "collective West" represented by NATO alone and argued that it is impossible to inflict a strategic defeat on Moscow.
During a meeting with Russian soldiers, Putin accused Western countries of increasing hostile actions against Russia. The Russian leader claimed these efforts have been unsuccessful and said that Russia has never suffered a definitive strategic defeat throughout its history.
Explained his own thesis on the Ukraine war
Putin argued that the conflict in Ukraine did not begin with Russia’s military operation. According to him, the process started with political changes in Ukraine, after which Moscow had to act to protect the people in Crimea and Donbas.
The Russian leader also said that Moscow waited eight years for the Minsk agreements, but the Kiev administration declared it would not implement them. Putin claimed that some Western countries used this period to rearm the Ukrainian military.
Praised military units and the frontline
Putin emphasized that assault units have played a crucial role in missions in Ukraine. He noted that soldiers on the frontline have made the final decisions in the conflicts.
During the meeting, Putin also listened to soldiers’ requests for equipment improvements, highlighting the strengthening of drone and technical systems used on the frontline.
Messages on satellite network and drone production
Putin said Russia has expanded its near-orbit satellite system and that new satellites have been launched since 2023. The Russian leader stated that this capacity supports communication and military fields.
He also mentioned that production of drones, including heavy-lift models, has increased. The Defense Ministry is working to deliver this equipment to the units.
Putin’s statements stood out as a new political message framing Russia’s Ukraine war, tensions with NATO, and capacity increases in war technologies within the same context.
