NBA superstar LeBron James is parting ways with the Los Angeles Lakers. Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul announced in a statement to ESPN that James informed the Lakers he will continue his NBA career elsewhere.
The 41-year-old James has spent the last eight seasons with the Lakers. The most significant achievement of this period was leading the team to an NBA championship in 2020.
A four-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the league's all-time leading scorer, James completed his record 23rd NBA season. The star player, a 22-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion, holds the league's all-time lead in games played (1,622) and total points (43,440).
This season, James averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game with the Lakers.
Warriors speculation
As speculation about James' future continues, the Golden State Warriors are expected to make a determined effort to add the star player to their roster. These claims emerged after Draymond Green declined his player option to create salary cap space for adding new names to the squad.
