The Ministry of Health signed a preliminary agreement with the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding the regulation of health reports for athlete licenses. The new arrangement aims to speed up licensing procedures, especially for athletes in low-risk sports.
Accordingly, those who will obtain licenses in low-risk sports such as chess, scouting, archery, and folk dances will be able to complete their procedures without visiting a doctor, using a 'status document' and health declaration generated through the e-Nabız system.
Those who are found to have any risk or suspicious findings as a result of health assessments will be referred to a specialist for further examinations.
A significant convenience has also been provided for disabled athletes. With the new practice, disabled athletes will no longer need to obtain a separate health report for licensing. They will be able to apply for licenses using their existing health board reports.
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu said in a post on his social media account: 'We signed a preliminary agreement with our Ministry of Youth and Sports that will facilitate the licensing and health report processes for our athletes. I thank everyone who contributed, especially our Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Osman Aşkın Bak, and I hope our agreement will be beneficial for our sports community, our youth, and our country.'
