Republican Representative Massie said more than 3 million files related to Jeffrey Epstein had not been made public by the US government. In a video posted on his X account, Massie renewed his call for the files to be released.
Call for investigation and prosecution of 14 people
Massie accused 14 people, including former British Prince Andrew and billionaire Les Wexner, of being Epstein’s accomplices. Naming the individuals from the House floor, Massie called for them to be investigated and for prosecution proceedings to begin.
Massie also announced that he had launched a petition drive to collect the 218 signatures needed to force a vote in the House plenary on a bill titled the “Epstein Files Transparency Act 2.”

Background to the Epstein case
Jeffrey Epstein was facing charges of sexually abusing dozens of girls under the age of 18, the youngest of whom was 14, and establishing a prostitution ring. Epstein was found dead on August 10, 2019, in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York, where he was being held in custody.
The released case files included the names of former Prince Andrew, US President Donald Trump, former US President Bill Clinton, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, former US Vice President Al Gore, actor Kevin Spacey, singer Michael Jackson, illusionist David Copperfield, lawyer Alan Dershowitz and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
FBI statement
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation said that, following its review with the US Department of Justice, it had found no evidence that a “client list” consisting of prominent figures had been maintained. The bureau also said it had concluded that Epstein’s death was a suicide, despite claims that he was killed because he had been complicit in crimes involving government officials, celebrities and businesspeople.
