A Communiqué on Payments to Students Pursuing Undergraduate and Graduate Education Abroad Under Law No. 1416 and the Related Regulation, prepared by the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, was published in the Official Gazette.

Domestic scholarship amounts increased
Domestic monthly scholarships were increased for officially sponsored students attending language courses in Türkiye to prepare for education abroad. The scholarship for undergraduate students rose from 2,325 lira to 4,000 lira, while the scholarship for graduate students increased from 4,650 lira to 8,000 lira.
Health insurance ceiling raised
The regulation also introduced changes to compulsory health insurance payments. The ceiling for the annual cost of the insurance, which is required to provide standard coverage, was raised from 1.5 times the monthly scholarship abroad to twice that amount.
New calculation for accommodation payments
The method for calculating accommodation payments provided for thesis and fieldwork, as well as participation in scientific events, was changed. The total payment will be based on 5% of the daily foreign scholarship instead of 5% of the monthly foreign scholarship, with a total ceiling of 20%.
Students traveling to another country for a thesis, fieldwork or scientific event will also be eligible to have the visa fee for the destination country covered.
