RECLAIMING WASTE FOR THE ECONOMY IS NO LONGER A CHOICE BUT A NECESSITY
Highlighting the global energy and climate crisis, Bayraktar said: In such times, using energy efficiently, protecting our resources, and reclaiming waste for the economy is no longer a choice but a necessity. As the importance of efficient energy use and waste recovery grows, the Zero Waste Festival has emerged as a very significant event.
Moreover, the Zero Waste Festival has become a valuable platform to share energy efficiency and the Zero Waste philosophy with our citizens, especially the youth. We will continue to build a sustainable future for our young people by combining the Zero Waste vision with our ministry's renewable energy goals.
Bayraktar emphasized that the festival is hosting a first: all electricity used throughout the festival will be supplied entirely from renewable sources and verified with Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee (YEK-G) certificates. Thus, we will become the world's first YEK-G certified festival. He shared this information before attending the opening session of the Zero Waste Forum.
