MIT chief Ibrahim Kalin visits Kabul and Kandahar in Afghanistan
MIT chief Ibrahim Kalin visited Kabul and Kandahar during his visit to Afghanistan. In Kabul, Kalin discussed enhancing security and intelligence cooperation with Afghan officials, as well as regional developments.
MIT chief Ibrahim Kalin visited Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, and Kandahar. As part of his program in Kabul, Kalin met with Abdul Haq Wasiq, head of the General Directorate of Intelligence.
Kalin also met with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Afghanistan's interim government's deputy prime minister for economic affairs; Defense Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid; and Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani.
Security and intelligence cooperation discussed
The meetings addressed steps that could be taken to deepen security and intelligence cooperation between Türkiye and Afghanistan. The sides also exchanged views on bilateral relations.
The meetings covered regional and global developments, particularly the U.S./Israel-Iran war. Counterterrorism, combating human trafficking and the fight against drug trafficking were also on the agenda.
