Minister Uraloğlu stated in a written statement that the National Electric Train sets will begin services on the Uzunköprü-Halkalı-Uzunköprü route starting July 22.
Uraloğlu recalled that for about 20 years, this line has been served by trains consisting of an electric locomotive and 5 wagons, and noted that the new train sets have a total capacity of 324 passengers, with 322 seats and 2 wheelchair spaces.

Emphasizing that the trains, which can reach an operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour, will offer passengers a more modern, safe and comfortable travel experience, Uraloğlu said:
"Our National Electric Train sets, produced by TÜRASAŞ with domestic and national resources, will begin operating on the Uzunköprü-Halkalı-Uzunköprü route starting July 22. Thus, these sets will serve passengers on a line other than the Adapazarı-Gebze Regional Train for the first time. Our National Electric Train sets, which started service in 2023, have completed 11,551 trips to date, covering over 1,122,000 kilometers and carrying 2,634,363 passengers."
Uraloğlu stated that with the new trains, transportation opportunities for citizens living in Uzunköprü and its surroundings to Istanbul will be strengthened, and the service quality in regional passenger transport will increase.
