Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Foundation for Voluntary Organizations (TGTV), said that TGTV and the National Will Platform support the new process initiated under a law adopted by Parliament.
The 17th National Will Gathering, organized by TGTV and the National Will Platform at MÜSİAD's headquarters in Bakırköy, was held under the theme "A Terror-Free Türkiye." Speaking at the event, Erdoğan said Türkiye was at an important turning point.
Erdoğan said Türkiye had put forward its vision of the "New Türkiye Century" at a time of global transformations, major power struggles and regional developments.
Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan said that, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye was moving toward its goal of becoming a central country that has a voice in the world and represents the oppressed. He said domestic issues needed to be resolved for the country to grow stronger.
Recalling that President Erdoğan had emphasized the importance of faith during celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Justice and Development Party, Erdoğan quoted him as saying, "If our faith weakens, we cannot preserve or strengthen our unity."
Erdoğan said that civil society organizations within TGTV and the National Will Platform were working to strengthen this understanding across the country, adding that they stood behind Parliament, the state and the President in the new process.
Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan said they had conveyed questions addressed to them about the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration to Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş. Erdoğan said they had expected Kurtulmuş to answer these questions during his speech and thanked him and the members of Parliament for attending their invitation.
Erdoğan said they wanted to be informed early about developments in the process so they could convey accurate information to different segments of society, adding that this would help quickly prevent unfounded claims from spreading.
Erdoğan expressed hope that the steps taken would help strengthen peace around the world, bring an end to genocide and wars, and enable oppressed people to attain justice.
In addition to Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş, the event was attended by Parliament's Administrative Chief and Justice and Development Party Istanbul lawmaker Hasan Turan, chairman of Parliament's Justice Commission and Justice and Development Party Istanbul lawmaker Cüneyt Yüksel, Justice and Development Party Elazığ lawmaker Mahmut Rıdvan Nazırlı, Justice and Development Party Istanbul lawmaker İsa Mesih Şahin, and MÜSİAD Chairman Burhan Özdemir.
Presidents of foundations and associations, as well as opinion leaders, also attended the meeting. Participants received printed copies of the report prepared by the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, which has been working in Parliament.
