A new book about Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law and former senior adviser, alleges that Dutch intelligence hacked Kushner's phone and monitored his access to a bank account in Dubai. The allegations appear in an excerpt from investigative journalist Matthew Cole's book "Princes and Thieves," published in Vanity Fair magazine.
Cole wrote that a source he considered reliable told him in spring 2020 that the money in the account, which held hundreds of millions of dollars, came from a bank in Azerbaijan and that Kushner appeared to be transferring large sums to various people, including a warlord, a mercenary and a former hitman. The section's headline says the transfers exceeded $700 million and that the accounts linked Kushner to Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The book about Kushner and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed will be published on October 27. Cole also alleges that Saudi and Emirati rulers deposited at least $2 billion into accounts for Kushner.
Kushner described the allegations as "completely absurd," "ugly and absolutely untrue," while his lawyer said that no such accounts existed. No account records were published alongside the excerpt, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
