The bill containing regulations needed in areas related to the Turkish Armed Forces will be submitted to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the coming days.
AK Party deputies, led by Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, have reached the final stages of their work. The proposal is expected to pave the way for some individuals exempted from military service to become specialist non-commissioned officers.
Exemption and employment topics come to the fore
The proposal plans to allow those exempted from military service under Article 42 titled "Military Exemption" of the Military Recruitment Law to apply as specialist non-commissioned officers.
It is also stated that regulations aimed at increasing the employment of contracted non-commissioned officers and privates in the public sector will be included in the proposal. Thus, a new framework in the personnel regime is targeted.
Accommodation and training regulation for submarine personnel
In cases where accommodation cannot be provided to personnel on submarines stationed at domestic ports other than their permanently assigned ports, payment of accommodation expenses to the personnel is envisaged.
It is planned to extend the additional lesson fee applied to those who will teach at the training and education institutions under the Ministry of National Defense until the end of the 2029-2030 academic year.
The definition of military premises will be expanded
The proposal envisages including shift dormitories, veteran adaptation houses, and private, local, and winter training centers within the scope of "military premises."
Additionally, the regulation includes amendments to some articles in line with the Constitutional Court's annulment decisions.
After the bill is submitted to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly, it is expected to take shape during the commission and General Assembly process.
