Özel and Kılıçdaroğlu Both Apply to Speak at CHP Group Meeting
The debate over who will speak at this week's CHP group meeting continues. While the party headquarters and Özgür Özel's team have submitted separate applications to the Parliament Speaker's Office, the removal of titles from two group deputy chairpersons has sparked a new controversy.
A new wave of applications is underway regarding who will take the podium at this week's CHP group meeting. The party headquarters has applied to the Parliament Speaker's Office for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to deliver the group speech.
In response, Özgür Özel's team also submitted an application to the Parliament for Özel to speak at the group meeting in his capacity as the TBMM Group Chair. Thus, two separate requests have emerged for the same podium.
The tension within the party over the group meeting, which had previously eased after the invalidation crisis, has resurfaced, this time centered on the authority to speak.
It is reported that the duties of Gökhan Günaydın and Ali Mahir Başarır are also under discussion due to disciplinary decisions. The Parliament Speaker's Office is said to have removed the titles of both individuals.
At the party headquarters, the formula of making appointments until elections are held is being considered. It is conveyed that the assignment of Sevda Erdan Kılıç and İnan Akgün Alp is on the agenda within this framework.
This process within CHP has brought the question of how the group meeting will proceed and who will speak on behalf of the party back to the forefront. The outcome of the applications submitted to the Parliament is being closely monitored in terms of internal party balance.
