Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, after his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, stated that Pakistan will not change its stance on Israel. Dar emphasized that this stance can only change if an independent Palestinian state is established. Dar expressed that Pakistan has long adhered to its policies towards Palestine and Gaza, responding to questions about US President Donald Trump's call for Muslim countries to join the Abraham Accords. Dar said Pakistan reiterated its position on this matter at the United Nations. Additionally, it was noted that regional security, bilateral trade, investment, and counter-terrorism cooperation between the US and Pakistan were also discussed. The US appreciated Pakistan's diplomatic contributions to efforts to reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran but did not provide details. During the meeting, the proposal for deeper discussions on strategic partnership was accepted, and Rubio's visit to Pakistan within the year was agreed upon. These talks took place at a time when the US is continuing efforts to expand the Abraham Accords to more Muslim countries.
