Mansur Yavaş: I Stated That I Could Quit Politics If Hope Runs Out

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş said that rather than being in a situation where people run out of hope, he has thought about quitting politics. Yavaş emphasized the importance of nurturing people's hope for change and living in a better country. He stated that this hope is far beyond a personal sense of loyalty. Yavaş expressed that the developments and rising tensions in the political environment do not benefit anyone and stressed that problems should be solved through democratic mechanisms. Additionally, he said that compromise and negotiation should be at the core of politics. Yavaş mentioned that the processes occurring within the party are among the important agenda items of Turkish politics and that this process should be overcome through political dialogue.
