Photos: Evrensel Ordu — New developments regarding the mining drilling activities carried out in Korgan Plateau, which also raised concerns about negatively affecting Aybastı Perşembe Plateau, increased the worries of the local people. The drilling activities were continued by the company under gendarmerie protection until the Ordu Administrative Court issued a suspension order. The pollution recently observed at Çiseli Waterfall, located within the borders of Perşembe Plateau, caused concern that polluted waters originating from drilling activities reached the stream beds. "I encountered unprecedented pollution" Levent Yücel from Aybastı, who frequently visits Perşembe Plateau, said the scene he encountered at Çiseli Waterfall worried him. Expressing that he encountered pollution he had never seen before at the waterfall and requesting an urgent investigation, Yücel stated: "When I went to Çiseli Waterfall, I encountered pollution I had never seen before. The foamy dirty waters caught my attention. I think this pollution is caused by drilling. Because I come often, I have never seen such a situation. The water of Çiseli Waterfall was always clean. An urgent investigation should be conducted on this matter." (Evrensel) Add Evrensel as a preferred source on Google.
