President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the foreign ministers who came to Türkiye for the R4 and R4+E3 Foreign Ministers' Meetings at the Dolmabahçe Working Office in Istanbul.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the reception, along with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammed Ishaq Dar, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.
Erdoğan greeted the ministers one by one and shook hands with them. A group photo was taken after the reception. No statement was made about the content of the meeting.

First R4+E3 meeting held at Türkiye's initiative
Earlier in the day, a meeting was held in Istanbul under Fidan's hosting, first in the R4 format and then, for the first time, in the R4+E3 format with the participation of the E3 countries—the United Kingdom, Germany and France—and Italy. UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, who attended the meeting, did not take part in Erdoğan's reception. The meetings addressed the issue of Palestine, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, developments linked to Yemen and efforts to find a solution to the Russia-Ukraine war.

At a news conference after the meetings, Fidan said that military intervention against Iran was not a solution and that the Strait of Hormuz should be opened immediately.
