South Korean Choi Wonkyun wins World Drone Championship
The final race of the World Drone Championship was held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. In the one-minute final, South Korean Choi Wonkyun finished first, Minjae Kim second and Bulgaria’s Dimo Shterev third.
The final race of the World Drone Championship, held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport as part of TEKNOFEST, has concluded.
The race was started by TEKNOFEST Board Chair Bayraktar, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Görgün, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, Anadolu Agency Chair of the Board and Director General Serdar Karagöz, and STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz. The words "Ya Allah, Bismillah, Go" were used at the start of the race.
Drones controlled by two South Korean pilots, one Bulgarian pilot and one Japanese pilot took off to complete the designated course in the one-minute race.
At the end of the competition, South Korean pilot Choi Wonkyun finished first, Minjae Kim second and Bulgarian pilot Dimo Shterev third.
Bayraktar and Görgün congratulated the competitors and presented trophies to the winners.
