SpaceX announced it successfully placed 20 Starlink V3 satellites into orbit during the 13th test flight of its Starship rocket. The company said on X that the rocket lifted off from the Starbase facility in Texas and made a soft landing in the Indian Ocean.
This successful flight followed a series of earlier failures. The rocket broke apart during the 7th test flight on January 16, 2025, the 8th on March 7, 2025, and the 9th on May 28, 2025. The 10th flight was successfully completed after a weather delay, while the 11th on October 13, 2025, also went smoothly.
During the 12th flight, Starship’s previous test, the rocket launched without issues, but engine failures occurred during flight and it fell into the Indian Ocean, catching fire unexpectedly.
