The US Marshals Service announced that social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were taken into custody on Sunday in Miami, Florida, on a sealed arrest warrant. The UK government will request the brothers' extradition on charges of rape and sexual abuse.
The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced that Andrew Tate faces 19 additional charges, including seven counts of rape, three of human trafficking, three of assault, and extreme pornography involving indecent images of children. Tristan Tate faces one charge of sexual assault, two of rape, and three of arranging or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The brothers were already facing 21 charges in the UK, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm, involving three victims. With the new charges, the total number of victims has risen to seven, and the alleged offenses are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.

The brothers' lawyer, Joseph McBride, told AFP news agency that he believes his clients will "be freed." McBride said, "We are confident that when a competent judge sees the facts and the Department of Justice confronts this horrific abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will be released."
The Tate brothers fled Romania after being arrested there in 2022. They face separate, unrelated charges of rape and human trafficking in Romania.
The brothers, who gained fame by flaunting their luxurious lifestyles on online platforms, had drawn widespread criticism even before their legal troubles began for behavior often described as aggressive and misogynistic. Despite the controversies, they also have a large following in the US. In 2025, it was reported that a White House official intervened to protect them after US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized their electronic devices.
Both Andrew and Tristan Tate deny all charges against them.
