Haluk Görgün, head of the Presidency of Defense Industries, announced on his social media account that the Block-3 version of the domestically developed TAYFUN missile once again proved its success in the field by hitting a moving target with pinpoint accuracy in a test firing that further advanced its long-range precision strike capability.
Görgün made the following remarks: 'Our TAYFUN missile will make significant contributions to our security architecture as one of our strategic capabilities that strengthen our country's deterrence. I extend my gratitude, on behalf of all stakeholders in our ecosystem, to our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whose strong leadership and unwavering support have played a historic role in bringing our defense industry to where it is today.'

Our TAYFUN Block-3 missile, which hit a moving target with pinpoint accuracy at long range, once again demonstrated the level our engineering capabilities have reached with the integration of a seeker head.'

A FIRST IN TÜRKİYE, A CAPABILITY WITH FEW EXAMPLES IN THE WORLD As part of the test, a free-roaming unmanned surface vessel/ship designated as an enemy element was engaged with a missile reaching hypersonic speeds.
In the test, which used a live warhead, the target was locked onto with a seeker head and successfully destroyed. With this test firing, a free-roaming unmanned surface vessel/ship at sea was targeted by a ballistic missile for the first time, achieving complete success.
With this firing, a seeker head was integrated into a ballistic missile for the first time in Türkiye, a capability with few examples in the world, and a moving surface target was successfully struck. The unmanned surface vessel, approximately 7 meters long and representing a small fishing boat, was hit at very high speed by TAYFUN Block-3 and destroyed with surgical precision.
The TAYFUN missile was developed as a highly reliable missile system produced by ROKETSAN, a rocket, missile, and munitions technology company, designed to create impact on deep targets. Thanks to its cruising speed reaching hypersonic levels, TAYFUN is unaffected by air defense system threats and, with its high strike precision, also prevents unwanted collateral damage.
