One of the important male groups of Turkish pop music in the 90s, Birkaç İyi Adam, reunited after exactly 30 years for the National Football Team. The group prepared the anthem titled "We Write Your Name to the Skies" for the national team heading to the 2026 FIFA World Cup after 24 years, and this work received appreciation on social media. The group, consisting of Faruk K, Hakan İlban, Aytunç Bentürk, and Murat İnce, came together on the program "90’s Football Smart," jointly broadcast on D-Smart and DreamTürk channels, to explain the formation process of the anthem.
The band members stated that the surprise on stage when they went to watch Yonca Evcimik's musical project was a turning point in their reunion process. Faruk K expressed that Yonca Evcimik inviting them on stage revived the energy inside them. Hakan İlban said that they have never lost their connection with the group members for 30 years and worked together for the anthem.
Faruk K, who emphasized the importance of using local melodies in the anthem, said they wanted to reflect national feelings and love for the homeland, using many instruments such as bağlama, clarinet, qanun, tulum, and kemenche. Murat İnce drew attention to Turkey's cultural richness, stating that they tried to transfer the unique sound of each region into the music.
It was revealed that the group's name was given 30 years ago inspired by the film "A Few Good Men," suggested by Yonca Evcimik. Faruk K told that Yonca Evcimik helped them enter the industry and they started taking singing and solfège lessons. Murat İnce said he was a former national karate athlete and that he left sports academy to attend conservatory.
Expressing nostalgia for the 90s, Murat İnce said that people were more emotional and empathetic at that time, whereas today everything is consumed quickly. Faruk K stated that memories and friendships were accumulated while having fun in the 90s, but nowadays people only try to appear as if they are having fun. Murat İnce expressed that in today's virtual media culture, people think about how many likes they will get rather than living the moment.
