Trade Minister Ömer Bolat attended the opening ceremony of the Horoz Logistics E-Commerce Logistics Campus in the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ. In his speech at the ceremony, Bolat said that the logistics sector was an important area for Türkiye’s economy.
Bolat said that the services sector accounts for 65 percent of employment and approximately 60 percent of gross domestic product, adding that Türkiye ranked ninth worldwide in logistics and transport services based on its 2025 data.
Bolat said that $42.5 billion in export revenue was generated from transport and logistics services last year, while total services revenue reached $125 billion. He noted that $65 billion of services revenue came from tourism and $42.5 billion from the logistics and transport sector.
Bolat said these revenues created a $63 billion surplus in services trade, adding that this contribution helped reduce the foreign trade deficit and played a role in bringing the current account deficit to $29.5 billion in 2025.
Support for the logistics sector
Bolat said Tekirdağ’s strong transport network was an advantage for the city and noted that thousands of people were employed in the transport and logistics sectors. He said the logistics sector contributes $115 billion to Türkiye’s gross domestic product and added that they expected this contribution to grow further.
Bolat announced that the Trade Ministry provided 3.2 billion Turkish liras in support to the transport and logistics sector between 2022 and 2025. He said the ministry’s total support for the services sector since 2012 had reached 31 billion liras, while support provided in 2024 and 2025 amounted to 1.5 billion liras.
Bolat said 12.5 billion liras in support was provided to services sectors in 2026, adding that the services sector contributed to the decline in the current account deficit through its $63 billion trade surplus.
The new campus’s function
Bolat said the newly opened logistics campus would provide fast, efficient and sustainable solutions to the growing logistics needs of industrialists, particularly in e-commerce, through its automation-supported operational infrastructure and high processing capacity.
Taner Horoz, chairman of the board of Horoz Logistics, presented a gift to Minister Bolat at the ceremony. Bolat and those accompanying him then cut the opening ribbon and toured the campus.
Deputy Trade Minister Volkan Ağar, AK Party Tekirdağ lawmakers Çiğdem Koncagül, Mestan Özcan and Gökhan Diktaş, as well as mayors and industrialists, attended the opening.
