US President Donald Trump made significant statements about Iran at an economy-themed event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stressing that they will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, Trump said, "I prefer to make a deal with them because I don't want to kill people."
Trump stated that they were ready to launch the largest attack since World War II, but suspended the planned strikes after Gulf leaders and Iranian officials called to stop the attack and requested talks.
"They called me and said please don't do this, let's talk. We are currently talking. Let's see what happens, but they are showing us respect," Trump said, reiterating that they are ready to hit Iran "hard" if the talks fail.
The US President once again stated that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons, arguing that this is their main goal.
