A new public opinion survey in Russia has revealed the levels of trust and approval directed at Vladimir Putin. According to results published by VCIOM, 73.3% of respondents said they trusted Russian President Putin.
The survey recorded that 21.6% of participants stated they did not trust Putin. In the same poll, 67.7% of respondents said they approved of Putin's work in his role as president.
The share of those who said they did not approve of Putin's performance stood at 21.8%. The findings indicated that a significant portion of public support still coalesces around Putin.
Separate measurements also taken for the government and prime minister
The same poll revealed that 44% approved of the Russian government's work, while 25.4% disapproved. The share of respondents who said they trusted Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reached 56%.
Participants who stated they did not trust Mishustin amounted to 23.1%. Thus, the survey provided a separate assessment table not only for the president but also for the government and the prime minister.
United Russia leads in party preferences
Voters were also asked in the survey which party they would vote for if Duma elections were held next Sunday. 35.5% of respondents answered United Russia.
The CPRF came second with 10.9%. The New People party received 9.8%, the LDPR 8.4%, and A Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth 5.8% support.
