U.S. conservative commentator Tucker Carlson claimed that the Trump administration may be days away from launching a nuclear strike on Iran under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In a lengthy text published Sunday, Carlson alleged that the target would be Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran.
Carlson said Israeli intelligence claims that Iran has resumed enriching uranium in tunnels beneath the mountain. He wrote that the tunnels, located beneath approximately 90 meters of granite rock, could not be reached with conventional U.S. weapons, leaving only the nuclear option on the table. Citing an unnamed source, he wrote: “Bibi calls Trump every day.”

Carlson claimed that Trump is expected to decide by Nov. 7 whether to use nuclear weapons, but is currently hesitant. Trump is allegedly listening to Vice President JD Vance and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who argue that a deal with Iran is possible. Carlson alleged that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper favor restarting large-scale operations.
Carlson argued that Netanyahu failed to secure a 61-seat majority in the Knesset after last week’s elections and therefore needed a war. He also claimed that Netanyahu secretly traveled to Abu Dhabi on Sept. 27 to seek support from the United Arab Emirates, but that the Emiratis rejected the request. Carlson further wrote that 11 supertankers sustained heavy damage in the Strait of Hormuz in October.
Carlson provided no documents to support his claims and attributed the information to unnamed sources. Trump, meanwhile, hinted at an Iowa campaign rally on Sunday that he could resume attacks on Iran, saying: “At some point, we’re going to have to bring the hammer down on them.” The U.S. midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
