Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that they were ready to negotiate a mutual halt to air strikes targeting agricultural and energy infrastructure with Russia.
During a meeting with local and foreign journalists on Sunday, Zelenskyy assessed the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war. Saying that air strikes against Ukraine were continuing, Zelenskyy alleged that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not want to end the war and had expanded the scope of the attacks.
Emphasis on energy and grain infrastructure
Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s grain corridor and energy infrastructure were facing intense Russian attacks. He reiterated that Ukraine was ready to hold talks with Russia on a mutual halt to attacks targeting its agricultural and energy infrastructure.
The war between Russia and Ukraine has continued since February 24, 2022. Moscow has made Kyiv’s abandonment of plans to join Western military formations a condition for ending the war, while Kyiv views this approach as interference in its internal affairs.
