Turkish Air Force Commander Gen. Rafet Dalkıran and Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smyth, the UK’s Chief of the Air Staff, flew together in F-4E/2020 jets of the 111th Squadron at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya, Türkiye’s Defense Ministry announced on September 26.
Smyth arrived in Türkiye with a delegation as Dalkıran’s official guest and first visited Air Force Headquarters in Ankara. After their talks in the capital, the two commanders traveled to Konya.

Footage released by the ministry showed the commanders suiting up, in the cockpit and flying in formation, before posing for a group photo with base personnel.
In October 2025, Türkiye and the United Kingdom signed an agreement for the purchase of 20 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets for the Turkish Air Force.
