The Turkish Red Crescent, in cooperation with the Sudanese Red Crescent, continues to provide food support to internally displaced families in Port Sudan.
According to a statement from the Turkish Red Crescent, 1,000 food packages were prepared for families in need as part of field work. The packages were put together taking into account local needs assessments, and each contains enough to meet the basic food needs of a family of six for about a month.
The aid distribution took place on July 26–27 in 10 camps with high concentrations of displaced people. Sudanese Red Crescent volunteers and Turkish Red Crescent staff worked in close coordination to reach the families most urgently in need of assistance.

Aid expands
Given the ongoing humanitarian needs in Sudan, food distribution is also planned for Khartoum and North Kordofan in later stages of the operation. This aims to expand aid activities to other parts of the country and reach more families.
The Turkish Red Crescent, through its food support program in Sudan, is helping meet the basic needs of families affected by the conflict. The organization intends to continue its humanitarian efforts in the country together with the Sudanese Red Crescent.
