Süper Lig referee Yasin Kol and assistant referee Göktuğ Hazar Erel were arrested by an Istanbul court in the “referees file” investigation run by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Kol was referred to court on “match-fixing and incentive bonus” charges and Erel on “forgery of official documents.”

A MASAK financial crimes report in the file shows 5,978 transactions on Kol’s accounts between 2012 and 2026 with a total volume of 135 million liras. In his police statement, Kol denied the allegations, saying he had never placed illegal bets. Five people, including Central Referee Committee (MHK) chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu, were arrested in the probe on Oct. 3.
