The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL) after finishing the regular season in 4th place with 9 wins and 25 points. The Crescent-Stars were paired with Canada, who placed 5th with 8 wins and 24 points.
A special matchup with Guidetti
Canada's head coach is Italian Giovanni Guidetti, who coached the Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team from 2017 to 2022.
Match schedule and potential opponents
The quarterfinal match will be played on July 22-23 in China's Macau Special Administrative Region. If Turkey beats Canada, they will face the winner of the USA-China matchup in the semifinals.
Other quarterfinal matchups
The other quarterfinal matchups in the VNL Finals are: USA-China, Italy-Netherlands, and Brazil-Japan. China, who finished outside the top eight in the regular season, earned a quarterfinal berth by using the host country quota.
Bulgaria relegated
Bulgaria, who finished last in the regular season, bid farewell to the VNL. In the 2027 VNL, Bulgaria's place will be taken by the national team that is highest in the FIVB world rankings among the countries not participating in this season's competition.
