A new claim has emerged in the investigation into the Ahbap Association. Hüseyin Başaran, Chairman of Başaran Holding, filed a criminal complaint with the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, alleging that he was defrauded by Haluk Levent.
Haluk Levent went to Hüseyin Başaran's office and said he wanted to purchase properties belonging to the Başaran group in the name of the Ahbap Association "to build a dormitory for orphaned university girls."
After losing his daughter in a plane crash in 2018, Başaran, driven by emotional sensitivity, wanted to support orphaned girls and thus responded positively to the request. However, Haluk Levent allegedly did not pay for the 22 properties worth $60 million after taking them over, and the properties were not used for the stated purpose.
Upon these findings, Hüseyin Başaran filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, and the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office transferred the file to the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation also revealed messages between Haluk Levent and his assistant, and the use of three employees' accounts in what was described as an 'IBAN game', with millions in money flows detected.
