Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar met with Lebanon’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Joseph Sadi on Wednesday, September 23, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Bayraktar said the meeting assessed opportunities for joint energy projects between Türkiye and Lebanon. The two sides discussed cooperation options for interconnecting electricity grids and transporting hydrocarbons through pipelines.
Bayraktar said these efforts could contribute to ensuring regional energy security. He stated that Türkiye’s experience in energy infrastructure and resource diversification could be developed into concrete areas of cooperation in line with Lebanon’s needs and priorities in the energy sector.
The two countries attach importance to ensuring that projects to be developed provide reliable and uninterrupted access to energy resources across the region. Bayraktar noted that such projects could also contribute to regional prosperity and stability.
