Somalia's Defense Minister Fiqi thanked Türkiye for its support
Somalia's Defense Minister Fiqi received at his office a delegation led by Major General Sebahattin Kalkan, commander of Türkiye's TURKSOM military training base. The meeting addressed strengthening defense cooperation, training Somali soldiers and developing the army's capabilities.

The meeting addressed efforts to strengthen defense cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye, train members of the Somali National Army and develop the army's capabilities.
Fiqi said TURKSOM plays an important role in training Somali soldiers and developing their professional skills.
Thanking Türkiye for its continued support for the restructuring of the Somali army and for the country's security and stability, Fiqi underscored the importance of defense cooperation between the two countries.
Türkiye supports efforts to develop the capabilities of Somali security forces through training activities at TURKSOM.
