Türkiye’s contracting sector has once again demonstrated its strong position in the global construction market. Forty-eight companies from Türkiye have entered the 2026 “Top 250 International Contractors” list published by Engineering News-Record (ENR), one of the construction industry’s most prestigious publications.
According to data announced by the Ministry of Trade, Türkiye ranked second on the list by number of companies, behind China, which ranked first with 75 firms.
The number of Turkish companies on the ENR list has therefore risen steadily over the past three years. The list included 43 Turkish companies in 2024, 45 in 2025 and 48 in 2026.
The value of Turkish firms’ international projects rises to $24.9 billion
The 2026 ENR list is based on the revenues companies generated from projects outside their home countries in 2025.
The total value of international projects carried out by Turkish contracting firms in 2025 was recorded at $24.9 billion.
This figure stood at $20.8 billion the previous year. The international project volume of Turkish companies thus increased by approximately $4.1 billion.
Turkish firms accounted for 4.5 percent of the total international project volume of the 250 companies on the list.
Türkiye rises to seventh worldwide by project value
Türkiye’s contracting sector recorded significant growth not only in the number of companies but also in international project revenues.
Türkiye ranked seventh worldwide by international project value, behind China, France, Spain, the United States, South Korea and Italy.
Türkiye thus rose two places from the previous year, overtaking countries such as Japan, the Netherlands and India.
Seven Turkish companies rank among the top 100
Seven companies from Türkiye were included among the top 100 in ENR’s 2026 list.
Two Turkish firms also made it into the top 50.
The result showed that Turkish contracting companies rank among the leading players in the global construction sector not only in terms of the number of firms but also in terms of international revenue volume.

New opportunities for Turkish firms in the reconstruction of Ukraine and Syria
The Ministry of Trade announced that work would continue in the coming period to increase the share of Türkiye’s contracting sector in international markets.
In addition to traditional markets such as Libya and Iraq, the aim is to strengthen the presence of Turkish firms in European countries such as Portugal and Romania.
The ministry also said work was being carried out to enable Turkish contracting companies to play an active role in the reconstruction processes of Ukraine and Syria.
Plans also call for increased cooperation with countries such as the United Kingdom and Japan on developing joint projects in third countries, accessing financing and entering new markets.
