President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün visited Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır in his office. The meeting addressed cooperation to move technologies developed in the defense industry from the laboratory to the field.
Görgün said this process requires a strong research and development infrastructure, appropriate investment instruments and sustainable production capacity to work together.
Joint projects and technology areas
Görgün said joint work is being carried out with the TÜBİTAK Defense Industries Research and Development Institute on the SİPER and GÖKTUĞ projects. He added that work is also being conducted with TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, MAM and UME in the fields of navigation, radar, communications, advanced materials and atomic clocks.
He noted that the project-based investment incentives provided by the Ministry of Industry and Technology offer significant opportunities for putting the systems developed into mass production.

Support for production capacity
Support for new investments by defense industry companies such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN and MKE has increased production capacity and improved technological capabilities.
Görgün said the Presidency of Defense Industries develops projects for critical technologies, while the Ministry of Industry and Technology brings together the opportunities it provides through its research and development, investment and industrial policies around common goals. The meeting also evaluated new areas of work that could advance existing cooperation.
Görgün said they continue to build the Century of Türkiye around a vision of a Türkiye that produces high technology, is independent in critical technologies and is strong on a global scale.
