Türkiye's Ambassador to Beijing Selçuk Ünal received executives from Turkish news agencies at the embassy during the 7th World Media Summit in China's capital.
In statements issued in Turkish, Chinese and English, the embassy said Ünal hosted Anadolu Agency (AA) Deputy General Manager and Editor-in-Chief Yusuf Özhan. Ambassador Ünal also received İhlas News Agency (IHA) Deputy General Manager Özgür Yorul and IHA Foreign News Director Yaprak Mutlu at the embassy.
Photographs released from the meetings show Ünal posing with his guests in front of a portrait of Atatürk, between Turkish and Chinese flags.

“Media in the intelligent age” theme
The 7th World Media Summit, jointly organized by China's official news agency Xinhua and the Beijing municipal government, is being held in Beijing from November 5 to 9. People's Daily and Global Times reported that the summit, themed “Media in the Intelligent Age: From Consensus to Action,” brings together nearly 500 delegates representing around 330 media organizations, think tanks, government agencies and international organizations from 112 countries and regions. Xinhua said the summit was launched in 2009 at the initiative of a group of international media organizations and is considered one of the major global cooperation platforms in the media sector.
Artificial intelligence and global communication
The summit's sessions address “Artificial intelligence for all and the transformation of global media,” “Media dialogue and cooperation for a safer world,” “AI-powered communication expanding interaction among civilizations” and “AI plus and the future of global communications governance.” The program also includes a session titled “The Beijing approach,” which discusses China's modernization.
Among the Turkish agencies attending the summit, AA was established in 1920, during the years of the Turkish War of Independence, as Türkiye's oldest news agency. IHA is one of Türkiye's leading private news agencies.
