As part of the investigation conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the statements of suspects who testified under effective remorse provisions and the entire case file were examined, revealing the workings of the bribery network within the municipality. It was determined that during the period in question, former mayor Alaattin Köseler and the other suspects acted in concert and with a unity of purpose.
It was determined that the suspects identified permit holders who were constructing buildings in violation of zoning regulations, then unofficially photographed them and recorded the violations. They then summoned these property owners to the municipality and, in exchange for not processing the reports, not sealing the buildings, or not carrying out demolition, unlawfully obtained material benefits for themselves.
2 ARRESTS In the first operation, arrest warrants were issued for a total of 3 suspects, including former mayor Alaattin Köseler, who had been suspended from duty. In the second operation, arrest warrants were issued for 2 of the 6 suspects detained. Judicial control measures were applied to the remaining 4 suspects.
Arrest warrants were also issued for 2 suspects who could not be located at their addresses and are considered fugitives. The multi-faceted and extensive investigation being conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing with full diligence.
