Pro-Palestinian activists in Rochdale, in England's Greater Manchester region, blocked the entrance to a factory run by electronic components maker TT Electronics on Monday, Oct. 19. The activists alleged that the plant supplies parts for weapons systems used by the Israeli military.
Footage recorded during the action shows activists who had locked themselves to the factory entrance by placing their arms inside lock-on devices draped with Palestinian flags. Red paint was poured on the road in front of the factory.
"We're shutting down TT Electronics today. TT Electronics make F-35 parts, they're crucial to the supply chain. This is why we're shutting it down to free Palestine," one activist said. The activist also said security guards had dragged them around "like rag dolls."

"Israel wouldn't be able to commit the genocide without places like this," the activist said, adding that the red paint on the road represented the effects of the company's actions and urging others to join the protest.
Claims of parts for Elbit drones
According to Anadolu, the activists claim the components produced at the site are used in F-18 and F-35 fighter jets as well as in drones made by Israeli defense company Elbit Systems.

UK-based TT Electronics bought the power and control business of Ferranti Technologies, based in Greater Manchester, from Elbit Systems UK, the British arm of Elbit Systems, for £9 million in January 2022.
In September 2024, the British government suspended 30 arms export licenses to Israel but exempted F-35 components, citing the program's global supply chain.
