The US Embassy announced that one year after the lifting of sanctions on Syria, more than 18 thousand companies were registered in Damascus and 1.5 million refugees returned to their countries. In a statement made on the US social media platform X, it was expressed that Washington opened the door to investment in Syria, providing "a great opportunity for the country." In addition to these developments, the Embassy stated that "comprehensive Syria Investor Guides" were published, noting that these guides are the most detailed market intelligence report for Syria. It was stated that the guides reflect American confidence that Syria can be a reliable center for responsible investment, entrepreneurship, and integration. The statement emphasized that there are investment opportunities in sectors such as electricity, oil and gas, technology, telecommunications, real estate, and banking. It was noted that US companies, with their technological leadership and expertise, can fill the gaps Syria needs. Additionally, it was recorded that the guides aim to connect Syria with transparent and resilient economic partnerships that will support long-term prosperity and stability. The US Treasury Department announced that on May 23, 2025, a general license was issued for Syria, providing immediate relief in sanctions. Treasury officials stated that Syria must progress on the path of peace and stability. This decision came after years of sanctions against the regime in Syria. In December 2024, with opposition groups taking control in Damascus, the Bashar al-Assad regime ended, and in January 2025, a temporary administration was established. This administration is trying to strengthen relations with international cooperation and humanitarian institutions.
