US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on social media that Tom Barrack's title as special envoy for Syria has ended. Rubio noted that Barrack played an important role as the Special Representative for Syria. Despite the end of his title, Barrack will continue his duties as the US Ambassador to Turkey. Rubio emphasized that Barrack will remain in a leading position in both Syria and Iraq and that his expertise and relations will continue to bring successes in line with America's interests. Additionally, claims emerged that Israel did not want Barrack to comment on or communicate about Syria and Lebanon issues.
