Vakıf Katılım has won an international award for its Vakıf Eserleri Envanter Projesi, conducted to preserve cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations. The company received the silver award in the 'Social Responsibility and Sustainability / Culture and Art Projects' category at Brandverse Awards 2026.
Project scope and goals
Within the scope of the project, carried out with contributions from academics, art historians, and expert teams, foundation works in various cities are being inventoried through detailed field research, comprehensive visual records, and academic content. The works recorded in Turkish and English texts are creating a digital cultural heritage archive.
Statement from General Manager Akben
In his assessment of the award, Vakıf Katılım General Manager Mehmet Ali Akben stated that foundation works carry valuable traces of the memory of civilization and the understanding of solidarity. Akben said, "With the project we launched in Hatay in 2022, we aimed to document this deep-rooted heritage using scientific methods, contribute to its preservation, and leave a reliable reference source for future generations."
Akben expressed that they have recorded hundreds of foundation works in Hatay and Konya to date and have also completed their work in Bursa and Kütahya. He emphasized that they value the prepared inventory books forming a qualified resource for academic studies, restoration processes, and cultural heritage research.
Saying that the project's tangible recognition is a great source of pride, Akben noted that they see the success as a result of the collective effort of the entire project team. Akben made the statement, "As Vakıf Katılım, we will continue our work to carry our cultural heritage into the future with the same meticulousness."
