Winners of the SeriesFest 2026 Independent Pilot Competition Announced

SeriesFest 2026 held in Denver once again highlighted innovative productions as an important festival focusing on independent television projects. At the festival, the drama pilot 'Woodstockers' created by Corbin Bernsen won the best drama pilot award, while Mandy Patinkin's comedy series 'Seasoned' was selected as the best comedy pilot. The festival took place from May 6-10, and at the event where more than 50 independent pilots competed, winners were provided with post-production support worth $25,000. Additionally, Kim Blanck, the winner of the Women Directing Mentorship competition organized to support female directors this year, gained the opportunity to gain directing experience on a Shondaland original series. Awards were given in different categories such as drama, comedy, and documentary at the festival. Other notable productions included the documentary pilot 'Choir Games' and the digital short series 'Banana.' The festival jury consists of industry professionals, journalists, and creative figures. SeriesFest aims to support independent content creators and facilitate the meeting of new stories with the audience.
